Beschreibung: DIGITAL CITY SCIENCE Instruments for the Analysis and Planning of the Digital City The course introduces the new field of Digital City Science and presents current and future challenges accompanying the digitisation of the urban environment. Point of departure are research activities carried by the HCU City Science Lab in the context of citizen participation, urban data platforms, or knowledge-driven urban development. Students will explore new digital tools and methods in the course such as GIS, CityScope, or Digital Twinning. Keynote lectures, group discussions and workshop sessions will build an understanding of the potentials and risks of digital future cities. As main output of the course, students will author a research paper and / or create a "smart digital instrument" such as interactive maps or software mockups.
