Beschreibung: How is the digital transformation changing our cities and urban life? What concepts, methods, and tools help us to actively shape this process? In the teaching course, current and future challenges for "smart" cities are presented, discussed, and exercised on the basis of specific challenges. A starting point is given by the research and application projects carried out at the Digital City Science group at HCU, which target systems for urban development and planning, sociographic analysis, urban data management. These tools and methods are explored during the course by way of keynote lectures, group discussions and group work sessions. As final work, students may create a digital product or tool „mockup“, or write a scientific paper or research proposal.
