Beschreibung: Building Information Modelling was long a catch phrase, today there have been many advances in the way construction documentation is handled. With advent of new technologies, VR, Lidar Scanning and Digital Twins the construction industry has taken leaps many folds in quiet a short time. Thought the advent of BIM took germ ages ago, only now has it established itself as a go to standard in construction documentation, atleast the present collation governments political will in Germany accords for this, all federal Buildings will have a BIM Mandate starting this year already. So as Germany and many other countries across the globe jump on to this bandwagon, get engaged into this short but intense introduction into the world of BIM, and explore with the Industry Experts in the field how the new age of construction documentation has evolved and is taking shape right here right now. The future is always with pleasant surprises in advancements. Explore and understand the basic structure of a BIM workflow, the best work practices, existing and evolving drafted standards and what the future holds with crossover to FM and Digital Twins. The intent of the course is to get students of Architecture and Civil Engineering industry ready. The end Assignment will explore identifying the bottlenecks in the BIM Methodology and possible patches for the same. Knowledge of any BIM authoring/validation tool is a plus. Tools that the participants would explore in the course: Autodesk Revit, Autodesk Navisworks, BIMCollab Zoom, BIMCollab, Solibri Model Checker(Guest Lecture) Concepts that will be explored: Open/Closed BIM, CDE, Issue Management, IFC, Classification systems Standards that will be explored: ISO 19605, VDI 2552 (as a possible Guest Lecture from VDI) among other global standards (current and evolving/draft-stage) Takeway: A better and clear understanding of what and how BIM is, actually Magic!
