This workshop provides basic knowledge about acoustics in architecture, with hands-on experiments in different spaces using different sound sources. There will be site visits to different venues and an introduction to Processing for learning how to develop custom digital tools in architecture. A digital tool will be presented which is developed by a DCS team member, who is a musician and architect. Many software solutions are available in the market to determine a room's ability to reflect sound waves in such a way as to produce distinct hearing. These applications however are highly specialized and expensive. Furthermore, they will perform the best, when users are literate in the science of sound with respect to its production, effects, control, transmission, materials deflection, propagation and reception. Workshop takers will develop their own designs. A brief history of this technology development will be presented to the students which is rooted in the experience of more than 30 projects, 10 of them as sole acoustic specialist and designer (project design, planning, implementation, test, and reporting). e.g., for the Hilton Bomonti, Çin-Pavilion of Turkey at the Venice Biennale, Sumahan Office, Arnavutköy Planetarium, Kabatepe Museum, Torbali Chamber of Commerce, Eskisehir Faculty of Architecture, Nigde University, Izmir Chamber of Architects Projects. Dr. Ayse was invited to evaluate the acoustics of Elbe Philharmonic in Hamburg for the Institute of Acoustics, Auditorium Acoustics Congress. The experiences will be shared with students
