Beschreibung: Dealing with complexity in the field of sustainable development by employing technology that is the core of this Qstudy. The curriculum is shaped around the SURE Facilitation and Synthesis Research Project (SURE project) activities. The project develops and employs new technologies (NLP, Ai, machine learning) to aid its synthesis research to uncover dormant knowledge ("Unknown Knowns"), identify open questions and prob-lems ("Known Unknowns"), and outline solutions and trends for future research on sustainable urban de-velopment. The course aims to introduce the identified complex problems within the Sustainable develop-ment of Urban regions funding priority (SURE) to provide information on research methods and technolo-gies to design and prototype integrated systems that can respond to complex problems. We explore some central questions in sustainability science: How to deal with complexity? What are the appropriate tech-nologies for sustainable development? How do we design integrated digital systems to synthesize knowledge?
