Zusätzliche Informationen zu Terminen: PLEASE NOTE RE: ORGANIZATION: Contrary to what was written here before, this course will be ONLINE ONLY. (We decided this as of October 14th in the face of the pandemic dynamics). Please reserve the time window in a.m. from 10.00 to 12.00 hrs for the „live“ (online) part of this course. We meet on Zoom. The lectures proper start at 10.15 hrs. As it takes several minutes for the Zoom host to pull all participants into the Zoom meeting, please be prepared to join the Zoom sessions a few minutes early. The Zoom room is going to be be open from 10.00 a.m. onwards. -- Our electronic learning platform is Moodle. Study material, homework submissions, messages and organization will take place via a Moodle platform for the course. — Once enrolment in this course has been completed here in the ahoi system, you will receive here the access data to the Moodle platform. A note to students from other institutions: You are welcome to join this course. Beware though that our student administration may tell you, upon your attempt to register, that you cannot get a place immediately and have to wait until registration period has closed. Beschreibung: The course offers a range of topics related to sustainability issues, with a focus on (but not exclusively restricted to) ecological and physical resource efficiency aspects of sustainability. Topics range from (by way of example) "Climate Change: The Physical Science Basis", "Sustainable Forest Management" to "Indoor Air Quality" and "Environmental Justice". The topics are presented in part by HCU-internal, in part by external speakers who are experts in their field. Expected from participants is general knowledge in, and interest for, the natural sciences and contemporary politics, as well as the willingness to actively work on their English vocabulary.
