Beschreibung: In REAP Project III students will work in groups to develop innovative contextually appropriate concepts to support the resource efficient planning of New Housing Post-Socialism in Niš, Serbia, with a specific focus on Somborska Boulevard, the largest new post-socialist housing development in the city. At the heart of the course is a collaboration with the University of Niš. Students from both universities will work in close cooperation with one another exploring not only Somborska Boulevard, but also Neuallermöhe, a district to the east of Hamburg built in the 1980’s and 1990’s, which overlooks Hamburg’s second largest urban development project, Oberbillwerder. Students will gain first impressions and discuss the varying urban, institutional, environmental, social and cultural context within which each housing project was built and now operates. This cross-border analysis will provide for an interesting comparison, each site with their unique challenges and opportunities, and guide the further the analysis and concept development which will take place at each respective university for the duration of the semester. Guest speakers 18.11.2020: Kirsten Stubbe „Development of Neuallermöhe: Challenges and Opportunities“ 19.11.2020: Julia Erdmann “Socialtecture” 23.11.2020: Julian Petrin “Co-Creating the City”
