Beschreibung: Definition of Hydrography and its tasks; Organizations; Standards of hydrographic surveys: classification of hydrographic surveys, positioning, special surveys, data attributes, elimination of dubious data, guidelines for quality control. Data formats. Reference systems. Overview of hydrographic data acquisition. Positioning and Attitude Determination, Frequently used GNSS terms, Differential corrections; DGPS and PDGPS/RTK applications in hydrography, Optimization of hydrographic positioning; Course control: independent and system immanent control, aids to navigation. Underwater navigation, acoustic beacons; Determination of water depths: overview of different procedures and accuracy budgets, purpose-oriented system selection, detection and compensation of ship’s motion in sonar devices; Calibration of echo sounders, patch test; Hydrographic data processing, methods of tide correction for sounded depths; Additional sensors; Supplements from current results of research and development.
