On this page you will find advice concerning the different ways how to receive information from ahoi outside the ahoi portal and how you can configurate ahoi accordingly.


Internal Messages

ahoi offers the possibility to send internal messages. These messages are indicated in the ahoi portal and can be read and deleted there as well, but only staff can compose Emails, not students. Important information and events are also communicated by internal messages. These internal messages can be forwarded to your HCU e-mail address. To activate this function please click on 'Personal Data' and there tick 'Forward messages to uni-mail-account?' (if it is not yet ticked).

Important note: You can't answer directly to these forwarded messages from ahoi! Please change the Emailadress "info@ahoi.hcu-hamburg.de" with the Emailadress of whom you want to answer. Or alternative answer by using the message function in the ahoi portal.


HCU-E-Mail-Account for students and staff

Along with their matriculation all students get an e-mail address. All messages dispatched by ahoi will be sent to this e-mail address only! You can access your e-mail inbox via Webmail. For log in please use your HCU-user name (e.g. hxy123) and the corresponding password. Further information about your HCU e-mail address like instructions for configuration of e-mail programs and more you will find here (Website only in German language).

It is possible to have mails forwarded from your HCU e-mail address to another e-mail address. Instructions how to set up this function you will find here.

Important note: HCU does not provide any warranty for delivery if your messages are forwarded to a private e-mail account. In case your private inbox is filled up or doesn't exist any longer messages can't be delivered successfully and you could miss important information! If you have forwarded your e-mails please remember to check your spam filter regularly.
